Accessibility Policy

At The Blue Lotus Practice, we are committed to making counselling as accessible as possible. We aim to provide a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all clients, whether sessions take place online or in person.

Online Sessions

  • We provide therapy via secure online platforms to ensure access for clients who cannot attend in person.

  • Clients are encouraged to use the device and format that works best for them (laptop, tablet, or phone).

  • We are happy to make reasonable adjustments, such as allowing breaks during sessions, adapting communication style, or using captions where available.

  • If a client experiences technical difficulties, we will work together to reschedule or complete the session in a way that best supports their needs.

In-Person Sessions - by arrangement only

  • We will ensure that therapy rooms are as accessible and comfortable as possible.

  • If mobility support is required (e.g., wheelchair access), clients are encouraged to inform us in advance so we can make appropriate arrangements or offer alternatives.

  • We aim to provide a safe environment free from barriers, discrimination, or harassment.

  • Where needed, we can help clients access additional support services or signpost to more suitable spaces if our facilities cannot reasonably meet their needs.

Affordability - by arrangement only

  • We believe therapy should be accessible regardless of financial circumstances.

  • We offer a limited number of concessionary rate slots, starting from £40 per session, for clients who are:

    • in receipt of benefits,

    • seniors (aged 70+), or

    • students in full-time education.

  • These reduced-rate places are subject to availability and can be discussed during the initial enquiry.

General Commitment

  • We treat all clients with dignity and respect, regardless of age, gender, race, religion, disability, sexual orientation, or background.

  • We will make reasonable adjustments wherever possible to meet accessibility needs.

  • If we are unable to meet a specific requirement, we will be transparent about this and explore alternative options collaboratively.
